1950's Inspired Cocktail Dress

Weddings are a joyous occasion, aren't they? Especially when the groom is your Dad's best's friend! And don't these special occasions deserve special outfits? Well, I think so!
This dress was a three-day 'thrown-together' ol thing.
The original pattern failed (a real rascal of a pattern) , my machine broke, and so, this frock was cut from scraps and sewn in a jiffy! But, God is so good to us poor, frustrated sewers with a time-crunch, and sometimes our worst mistakes become our best 're-takes'! God was so good to me!

Real fun to wear-bodice made from blue/gold brocade and skirt from left over dotted blue taffeta.
Black shoes, bought at K-Mart, add a cute flair. I NEVER get new shoes, so HURRAH for weddings!
Petticoat time!
The pearls, bought at a yard sale for $1, add a touch of vintage class!

Hope you like it!
