Caroline and her New Pink Gown

Caroline Abbott spends a lot of time with me. She is just such a great doll. I leave her in this pink dress which I made back in late November, because it seems to suit her.  I sewed it out of my favorite old shirt. This was such a lovely top, it was light cotton with shell buttons and pin-tucks. It even had a row of lace-insertion.

Constructing the doll dress was that much easier in the fact that all the detail work was done for me, I just had to cut the pattern out carefully.
The whole thing was quick, with the exception of making sure everything lined up correctly, as I was working with several layers of light cotton and sheer lace.

In the end, I made a quick hat to go with it, and strung a pendant my Aunt gave me for my birthday, to use as a necklace.
Caroline will not be changing clothes of quite a while!
